Silk ribbon embroidery on hand-felted backgrounds

Good morning stitching world

I have been quietly working on a new book: “silk ribbon embroidery and hand-felted backgrounds”

and here are some of the projects…

A handbag

A Hussif or handy-hold-all

I keep my silk ribbons inside this Hussif but it could hold threads, scissors and needles.

Also perfect for jewellery and other precious things.

What do you think?

Do you like the concept?

I will be travelling to Kiev in the Ukraine during October 2012 to teach this technique (silk ribbon embroidery on hand-felted backgrounds) and will also visit Moscow and St. Petersburg to meet up with Marina Zherdeva and Valentina Razenkova  two embroiderers I have admired for a long time.

I am happy to tell you that I will also be teaching the Blue Hussif (handy-hold-all) at the 2013 Craft Retreat in Stavanger, Norway

If you are able to attend the workshop, which is on 27 or 28 September 2013, you are welcome to e-mail Tone to book your place. Hope to see you there!

Have a peaceful weekend.

Love

Di

    Hallo Di,
You have combined two natural fibres with exquisite charm & beauty. The woollen texture is such a soft background for the silk glowing in its glory. Just love them. I am sure the students will enjoy the classes & gain great satisfaction from making these.
    Congratulations. lol Susan
