Running stitch

Running stitch

This stitch can be made in thread or ribbon. If the the fabric is stretched in a hoop or frame, you may find it easier to form the stitches stab-stitch-style: take the needle and thread all the way to the back of your work before coming up to form the next stitch.

A useful stitch when forming outlines that are not too prominent on the design.
