Knotting ribbon …

 

Making a looped knot


 

Step 1

Thread the ribbon onto a needle.

 

To make a looped knot at the end of the ribbon:

fold the long end of the ribbon once or twice

and pierce it with the threaded needle….

Step 2

….gently pull the needle through the fold …..

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Step 3

…. pull the fold along the length of the threaded ribbon….

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Step 4

… and a looped knot will form at the long end.


 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

This technique is shown on page 12 of my Flower Fairies

in ribbon embroidery and stumpwork book.
