Agapanthus, Hollyhocks and Delphiniums from my RES book (panel 4). Thick Agapanthus stems are twisted straight stitch; stems of the buds are detached blanket stitch. Leaves are twisted or folded straight stitch; flowers are fly stitch and straight stitch. Pink Hollyhock flowers are made in cast-on-stitch, with a french knot in the centre, and leaves are lazy daisy stitch. Blue Delphinium flowers are gathered flower stitch (search Di van Niekerk on YouTube) and leaves are ribbon stitch.
